side
A side counts the buy and the sell as separate events. Each matched trade, and each contract, has two sides - the buy side and the sell side. Taken together, these two sides equal one round turn per unit of volume. Measuring matched trade volume "per side" counts volume on each side of the trade. Chicago Mercantile Exchange Glossary
